Happy National Cheese Fondue Day! Try this recipe for some melted cheesy goodness.
Ingredients
- 1 cup white wine
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 1 tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 7 oz. Gruyere cheese, cubed
- 7 oz. sharp Cheddar cheese, cubed
- 7 oz. Emmentaler or Swiss cheese, cubed
- For Dipping:
- Sourdough bread
- Carrots
- Broccoli
- Cauliflower
Directions
Melt butter in small saucepan or fondue pot. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly to avoid sticking or burning.
Stir the wine into the flour mixture slowly. Use a whisk to smooth the mixture. Bring mixture to a boil and let cook for about 3 minutes.
Slowly add cubes of Gruyere, Cheddar, and Emmentaler cheese. Stir until cheese is melted. Keep fondue warm over low heat or flame of fondue pot. Enjoy!
