The Dietary Guidelines emphasizes a total diet approach, urging Americans to reduce calories and watch portion sizes, eat nutrient-rich food get at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day.

  • Eat veggies, fruits, low-fat/non-fat dairy, whole-grains and lean meats every day.
  • Get 30 minutes of physical activity every day.
