Position Title: Accounting Coordinator FLSA Exemption Classification: Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the Accounting Coordinator supports a variety of accounting tasks, primarily but not limited to processing of invoices and payments. Other responsibilities include tracking of fixed assets, warehouse inventory management, and period-end closing.

The Accounting Coordinator exhibits strong organizational skills, self-motivation and demonstrates solution-based innovation. Additionally, the Accounting Coordinator embraces diverse responsibilities with ease and enthusiasm.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review invoices for complete processing information and proper approval
  • Research and verify correct vendor information and nonpayment prior to entry. Develop protocol for coding invoices
  • Process accounts payable, including reimbursements for expense reports
  • Research, resolve, and respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status
  • Process asset purchases and ensure appropriate classification, useful life, and depreciation schedule
  • Participate in period-end and annual financial closings
  • Provide appropriate support for budgeting process and annual audits
  • Assist with other month-end reconciliations and analysis as required
  • Prepare invoices as necessary
  • Assist with the warehouse inventory recording effort annually to ensure proper financial records
  • Provide support to programs and events, as requested
  • Maintain fleet logs
  • Produce ad-hoc reports for management, as requested

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

  • S. or B.A. in Accounting, Finance, Economics is Preferred
  • 2-4 years experience in an Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable role
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Excel
  • Experience with financial management systems. Familiarity with Cougar Mountain / Denali accounting software is a plus
  • Ability to communicate with peers and management
